When The Music Ends Hearts in Winter Simone Beaudelaire 9781791368289 Books Reviews
- Someone should have proofread this book. The main female character goes from 16 to 18 in a few days, simply impossible.
- I enjoyed this contemporary love story. It spans several years with a wonderfully written cast.
The heroine is wonderful. I can absolutely identify with Erin in spite of her harsh childhood. She has always felt something special for her best friend's brother. And he feels something for her too. But he is older and he is reluctant to become involved with his younger sister's friend.
However, love knows no reason. They do become involved. His family deals with tragedy and Erin is right there with them, helping out however she can. Her own loveless childhood inspires her to help and assist this family in any way she can.
Erin and Sean do part when she goes away to college. She is an accomplished musician and Sean does not want to hold her back. Everyone thinks they know what Erin should want from life, what she should pursue. Erin knows what she wants more than anything. She wants to be a part of Sean's life and a part of his family. And she wants a loving family of her own.
They overcome trials and tragedies and time and this poignant love story comes to a satisfying conclusion. I felt good after I read it. Really good.
A solid five stars! Great characters and a well plotted story made this a wonderful read. Conflict, joy, and obstacles to overcome are just part of it. It is so satisfying to read a story that ends well with characters you have learned to love.
Five stars. I recommend this for anyone who loves romance done well. - My gosh this books hits you right off the bat. The struggles that Sheridan and Erin go threw as high school students , I could not even imaging. Erin has never felt loved or that she is even worthy of love. Sean wants Erin but is she too young for him. Can they love each other or will their love tear them apart. this book was filled with emotions , I was sad , mad , and happy all at the same time. I enjoyed this book a lot .
- Romance is the name of the game in this book. This book delivers what we all want more romance and excitement in our life. Overall i am very well pleased with this book and the excitement it has brought me. This book had me unwilling to put it down until I turned the last page. Would I recommend this book to other people? Yes I would including friends .I absolutely think this is great book. All opinions are my own and they are not influenced by anyone but myself. If this review helped you at all please vote yes below.
- What a lovely, heartwarming story this book was. A light romantic read that I enjoyed. It had some light steamy scenes, a great man who supported his lady, and a wonderful family system. It has some emotional stuff that the couple and their family's have to work out, has moments of "aww, I loved that part", all in all if you need a break from the dark intense books (like I do once in awhile) this is it.
- This is the kind of book I like to read. I want a beginning, middle and end. I've always admired the creative minds of authors who can give you a whole story. There are no unnecessary fillers in this book. The love Erin and Sean had for each other was incredible. A few times there were tears in my eyes. You will not find any hidden secrets between the H/h and only admitting their love for each other on the last page. What you will read, is a well written story, that will take you through the start of their love to the epilogue. You'll feel really good after you're done. The supporting and even the not so supporting characters played with your emotions. I realized, while reading, that I've read another book by this author and its in my favorite of favorites. This one will go right next to it. I enjoyed it tremendously.
- Sean Murphy is 23 years old, his sister Sheridan and her closest friend Erin, are 18.
When Erin's date lets her down for the home-coming dance, like the true hero he is, Sean steps in to escort her. It is after the dance finishes that the fireworks really begin. Erin, who has had a crush on Sean for years, and Sean who has always liked Erin but thought the difference in their age was too great, discover their mutual attraction and act on it. At the same time, Sheridan's night ends in disaster when she is raped and beaten by her boyfriend.
Erin is a gifted musician, and as she waits to see if she can win a place at the university of her choice, she and Sean continue to see each other.
Handsome, loyal and hard working, Sean is true hero material, the kind of man I would like my daughter to meet (if I had a daughter). He decides that he cannot stand in Erin's way, that she must continue her music career, so he sacrifices his own happiness and disappears from her life. Oh foolish man, Erin wanted Sean more than she ever wanted a musical career.
This is a really lovely story, tender, yet there are some spicy scenes in it, but never gratuitous. This is the second of Simone Beaudelaire's novels I have recently read, and it certainly won't be my last. She writes the most wonderful heroes, no woman could fail to fall in love with them.
I normally read historical romance, and this is the first "coming of age," novel that I have ever read, but I am extremely glad that I did. - I totally enjoyed reading this book. I have read many of this author books and I have loved them all. I am glad that this couple got their happy ever after ending. I will continue to follow this author and I look forward to reading more of her work.
