- This was the first complete book I read in my adult Spanish class. It took me awhile to read each page because I had to look up so many words, but that didn't affect the story. It's a great book, and little ColibrÃÂ (her name means Hummingbird) will tug at your heart.

- This is an excellent book for young adults on up. It brings you into the world of an indigenous Guatemalan girl kidnapped at a very young age and forced to live with her kidnapper for many years. This could make for a depressing story, but the author manages to find beauty in the simplest of circumstances. I found it inspiring. For the reader whose native language is not Spanish, this book is readable if you have at least an intermediate level of Spanish.
