• Emile's stories center much on French Nobles of the time. The good, bad and the ugly. This story has it all. It starts with the emblezzlement of millions by a "Scrooge" like clerk and it becomes a winding story of who's who and intrigue. If you like mysteries, you should read Emile's novels. Some of them require a certain degree on concentration as he tells his stories but the characters are all well-written and the stories interesting. The stories are written in a time frame normally centering some years after the French Revolution.

• I just need to clear my mind now because it's been racing since the summertime. And I'm holding down the summer now. But all I want is what I can't buy now, because I ain't got that money on me right now. But I thought you could wait.

• Good story line and interesting characters. Great description of place and time - I could easily visualize mid-19th century Paris.
  
  Good translation from the French, but there were occasional syntax hiccups I had to re-read.
• Surprised. Didn't know what to expect, but I enjoyed it.
• Good timeless lesson of human behavior towards money, investing and personal integrity. Nice reading. Recommended to these who would like to make a career in finance and investments.
• This story keeps the reader in suspense and the unexpected happens causing all sorts of intrigue. The characters created by this writer are always so believable. It is always a pleasure to read his books and discover the outcome.
