- Everyone who owns a Fire HDX should read this book—and should have it on hand as a reference. The author covers just about everything a user could ever want to know in a short and very understandable manner. The author carefully included enough information to explain the Fire and what it can do, but not too much information that would put the reader/user into overload. In addition, there are numerous screen shots of the Fire HDX, so the reader/user can see what exactly the author is talking about. I have had my Fire about six months and wish this had been available during the first weeks I stumbled around and called using Mayday many times, trying to figure out my Fire. I thought I really understood and could use my Fire, but, after reading the book, I still found many new, useful items that will make using my Fire all the better for me. I really liked the way the author covered the information he provided, not too much, not too little and with well written, understandable explanations/discussions. After reading this book, I now feel far more confident using my Fire, and will definitely find it even far more useful in my everyday life. I will definitely keep this book on hand as a reference for use every day. I recommend every owner/user get this book and read it thoroughly from cover to cover. I am very glad the author gave me a copy of this manual in exchange for an honest review. Thank-you, Steve Weber.
- I've owned a Fire for over a year now and just bought myself the Fire HDX. This manual explains a lot of the differences in an easy-to-understand format.
I especially liked the sections about "Collections" and "Using My Wireless Printer." There were all kinds of tidbits included in the book - many things I didn't even realize the HDX was able to do.
I hardly use my laptop any more. The Fires have taken the place of the laptop for me. I love them and I especially like resources such as this manual that are clear, concise, arranged intuitively and make my life easier. - Would like to thank Mr Weber for putting together this users manual. It's too bad that now days if you want a users guide you have to view it on line or pay for a copy. I live in a rural area and have a usage meter with my internet and really don't want to waste my usage looking up questions I have about a device I have purchased. The areas of the book I've viewed have been very helpful in answering my questions. I also download a copy of the manual to my kindle, but I find the hard copy more useful. Thank you again Mr Weber
- There are. several user manuals on the HDX. This one is well thought out, presented logically, comprehensive without some sales pitch. And its edited to be readable!! I have many of the other guides also but I strongly recommend this one over the others. For sake of disclosure I did receive a printed copy for review. The e book of this publication is equally well presented and edited.
- This is a VERY good resource, not only for those new to but for those who already own one but have not used it for much other than books and apps. It really is an amazing device.
The author does a fine job of writing in a step-by-step manner that makes following the directions easy. He also provides information on resources other than . This is definitely a handy book to hang on to.
As an aside- I have found that the best way to find free books on my is to use "free kindle books" as a search term and then select the book store (not the regular site). You can then use the filter to choose things like highest rated or newest additions. This also works well for finding a specific genre. For example, "free kindle books mystery" or "free kindle books horror". - My Fire HDX 8.9 is a little over one year old but this book must apply to a different tablet. Very few of the references to menus, screens, and other directions match what I have on my unit. I purchased the printed version because wanted to move step by step with a reference on the side but it is not worth the extra cost. If you are considering this, I recommend just the version so you can make your own decision without spending the extra money.
